Helpful Information for Victims of Crime
Recovery from crime victimization can be a difficult process. Victims often suffer from post-trauma related symptoms such as flashbacks, panic attacks, anxiety, depression, excessive fears, sleeplessness, depression and nightmares. Dr. East has extensively studied trauma recovery, and assisted numerous clients in psychological healing and guidance through the legal process.
If you have been victimized and have a police report, Victim Services is available to help you through the Florida Victim Compensation Fund. If you have a Florida health insurance plan, it is required to waive your copays and deductibles for crime-related counseling. If you do not have health insurance and are approved for Victim Compensation, it will cover a portion of crime-related counseling expenses.
